TAROM – Romanian National Air Transport Company
Soft landing of a passenger plane is conditioned by the skill of pilots, and the landing gear shock absorber response.
In order to provide comfort at each landing, the aircraft wheels are periodically check and filled with nitrogen to a predetermined pressure.
With its own nitrogen generating station with over 30,000 hours of operation, TAROM decided to acquire temporary nitrogen bottles and their modernization.
Following an audit of the station, TAROM modernization option was nitrogen NitroFilĀ® generator with high pressure (250 bar).
This concept adapted for TAROM station is based on Parker technology of nitrogen generation (permeable membrane).
NitroFilĀ® is a continuous source of nitrogen whose purity is continuously monitored.
Nitrogen thus produced is used to pressurize the tire from TAROM aircraft and for those in transit.
Real return on investment is achieved in the first 10 months of operation, with a production cost 4 times lower compared to nitrogen bottles.
“After modernization, the plant operates with low power consumption and low noise. Production time is optimal, the installation is presenting operational safety.
All strengths listed are TAROM savings, starting with the cost of repair and finishing with production costs.
In terms of execution, technical expertise and the technology used, the rating is exceptional. “
