NuclearElectrica – the only Romanian nuclear fuel manufacturer – has been leveraging the benefits of Parker’s permeable membrane nitrogen technology for several years.
Nitrogen is an indispensable gas in the production of uranium beams, and its supply from an independent and anytime available source has made the NitroFil® generator ideal for this application.
The same security of the process was the basis for the decision to equip the generator with accessory equipment to ensure increased efficiency: pre-amplifier of nitrogen pressure, atmospheric monitoring system and oxygen level signaling, nitrogen supply and regulation system with The COSE panel.
We present you a detailed description for each of these equipments to encompass the overall picture of the NitroFil® generator and the solutions offered in the process.
The pre-amplifier of nitrogen pressure
Pressure pre-amplification systems are used to raise the nitrogen pressure produced by NitroFil® from the generating pressure to a double pressure. The use of this amplification system allows the storage of nitrogen at high pressures to serve the peak consumption during the process.
The pre-amplifier integrates into the NitroFil® structure, and the control of charging is provided by the digital management system of the generator.
Atmospheric monitoring and oxygen level monitoring system – is intended for monitoring and signaling oxygen levels in warehouses, rooms and workspaces in order to avoid accidents related to the change of the oxygen level compared to the normal concentration of 21% of the earth’s atmosphere.
When the O2 level variation occurs in the monitored atmosphere, the system detects variation, alarms audibly and visually, and operates a room ventilation system in the room to restore the optimum oxygen level.
Power and nitrogen control station with COSE panel- allows connection of high-pressure nitrogen cylinder batteries at the low-pressure nitrogen vessels.
In case of damage to the NitroFil® Nitrogen Generation System, the Nitrogen Feed and Nitrogen Feed Station allows the supply of nitrogen from high-pressure storage batteries to low-pressure storage vessels to ensure the purging and cooling of sintering furnaces in safe conditions.
